A fabulously fun, international award-winning musical based on the adored movie, "Legally Blonde: The Musical" follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal.

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law. At school, she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner Huntington. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

Everyone MUST complete a Vocal AND a Dance audition

VOCAL AUDITION: Maximum of 32 bars of a song in the style of the show which shows off your voice. Please bring sheet music (no lead sheets) in the correct key in clear and visible print in a binder. Accompanist will be provided; no acapella auditions.

DANCE AUDITION: Bring clothes and dance shoes/sneakers in which you are comfortable moving! You will be taught a short combination.

Character Breakdown
ELLE WOODS (21-24) – Gb2-G5 Soprano Belt; Elle is a very bubbly college-age girl (“valley-girl”) who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more to offer than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality; lovable, determined, vulnerable, energetic and outgoing; a true triple threat (tap dance skills are a plus); must be comfortable handling dogs and be willing to be/become blonde; leading role. 

EMMETT FORREST (Mid-Late20's) – B2-A4 Tenor; Emmett is a smart, quirky, sensitive and personable law student; must be comfortable with dogs; a strong singer/actor; leading role.

PAULETTE BUONOFUONTE (Mid 20s to 30s) – A3-A5 Belt; brash, caring and optimistic; must be comfortable with dogs; a strong singer with a powerful belt to match the personality; leading role.

VIVIENNE KENSINGTON (Late teens to 20s) – A3-F5 HUGE Belt; Vivienne is an overachieving, stuck-up, wealthy, smart and savvy law student who is intellectually driven; supporting role.

WARNER HUNTINGTON III (Late teens to 20s) – Eb3-Ab4 Tenor; Warner is attractive and charming but very self-absorbed; leading role.

PROFESSOR CALLAHAN (40s to 50s) – A2-F#4 Baritone; Callahan is a pompous and manipulative law professor at Harvard; charismatic but able to turn instantly into a conniving shark at the turn of a hat; leading role.

SERENA (Late teens to 20s) – G#3-F5 Belt; is the energetic cheerleader, from Jewish heritage, sorority sister. Margot, Serena, & Pilar are Elle's entourage who follow her through the story acting as her “Greek Chorus”; strong singers and dancers with good comic timing and youthful energy; supporting role.

PILAR (Late teens to 20s) – G#3-F5 Belt; is the sassy and sensible sorority sister. Margot, Serena, and Pilar are Elle's entourage who follow her through the story acting as her “Greek Chorus”; strong singers and dancers with good comic timing and youthful energy; supporting role.

MARGOT (Late teens to 20s) – G#3-F5 Belt; is seemingly dim-witted, boy-crazy sorority sister. Margot, Serena, and Pilar are Elle's entourage who follow her through the story acting as her “Greek Chorus”; strong singers and dancers with good comic timing and youthful energy; supporting role.

BROOKE WYNDAM (Late 20's to 30s) – A3-G5 Alto or Soprano; Brooke is an exercise video star and former Delta Nu sorority girl who was accused of murder; being physically fit is a must for this role; supporting role.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE (20's to 40's) – all must be excellent singers and dancers and funny versatile actors; some will also play many featured and supporting roles including: UCSD students/Delta Nu Sisters/Prisoners/Dancers at Boston's Women's Correctional Facility/ Harvard Law students/Elle’s Mom/Harvard Law officers/Courtroom characters/ Enid Hoops/Chutney.

MALE ENSEMBLE (20's to 40's) – all must be excellent singers and dancers and funny versatile actors; some will also play many featured and supporting roles including: UCSD students/Frat boys/Faculty/Harvard Law students/Kyle(UPS Deliveryman)/Elle’s Dad/Courtroom characters.
